Alfa AI raises £1 million Seed round to reinvent how the world hires

Alfa AI has raised a £1 million Seed round to accelerate the growth of its AI recruiting platform and bring a faster, smarter, more scalable hiring experience to companies around the world.
The round was led by investor Sake Bosch, with participation from FirstDegree, Golden Egg Check, and Black Green Capital.
Alfa AI is building a new kind of recruiting system. One where companies can source, screen, and identify the right candidates with a level of speed and intelligence that traditional hiring has never been able to deliver.
Instead of relying on slow manual processes, overloaded teams, and inconsistent screening, Alfa gives hiring teams an AI-powered platform designed to understand talent, assess candidates, and help companies make better hiring decisions at scale.
In just one year, Alfa has already supported hundreds of hires for companies including Revolut, Google, and leading staffing agencies globally. The platform is now being used to help companies move from outdated recruiting workflows to a more intelligent, automated, and data-driven approach.
The recruitment market is one of the largest and most important sectors in the global economy, but much of the infrastructure behind it has not kept pace with how modern companies operate. Alfa is building for a world where hiring teams can move instantly, make better decisions, and handle candidate volume that would have previously required huge manual effort.
This next phase of growth will focus on turning Alfa from a powerful early product into a category-defining platform. The company plans to invest heavily in product development, customer success, and deeper AI capabilities as it works with more high-growth companies and enterprise hiring teams.
The company was founded by Alfie Whattam (Chief Executive Officer), Ed Godshaw (Chief Technology Officer), and Dr. Linda Yu, PhD (Chief Research Officer). Whattam was the previous UK National Lead for Hays, a FTSE250 staffing agency. Godshaw has 20 years experience building software startups globally. Yu has a background in big data and analytics. Together they are disrupting the legacy recruiting sector.
Alfie Whattam, CEO of Alfa AI, said:
“Hiring is one of the most important decisions any company makes, but the process is still far too manual, slow, expensive, and inconsistent. We believe AI can completely change that. Alfa gives companies a faster, smarter way to find talent, screen candidates, and identify the right people at scale. This is only the beginning. We’re building the future of hiring, and this funding gives us the backing to move even faster.”
