We are seeking a visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to spearhead our global digital transformation. In this permanent, full-time role based at our iconic Liverpool headquarters—with flexible hybrid working arrangements—you will bridge the gap between elite sports performance, global fan engagement, and world-class enterprise technology. As CTO, you will design and deliver the robust digital infrastructure that connects millions of supporters worldwide to Anfield, whilst ensuring our business operations remain agile, secure, and pioneering.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the Tech Vision: Architect and execute a comprehensive, long-term technology roadmap that aligns with Liverpool FC’s commercial and sporting ambitions.
• Elevate the Fan Experience: Lead the development of high-performance digital platforms, mobile applications, and direct-to-consumer streaming services to bring our global fanbase closer to the pitch.
• Modernise Infrastructure: Oversee the evolution of our cloud infrastructure, core enterprise systems, and venue technology at Anfield and the AXA Training Centre to ensure 100% uptime and seamless matchday operations.
• Champion Data & Security: Establish enterprise-grade cybersecurity frameworks and data governance policies to protect sensitive club, player, and supporter data.
• Empower High-Performing Teams: Recruit, mentor, and inspire a diverse, multi-disciplinary team of engineers, developers, and IT specialists, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven Tech Leadership: Extensive experience in a executive technology leadership role (CTO, VP of Engineering, or Director of IT) driving successful digital transformations.
• Scale & Complexity: A proven track record of managing complex, high-transaction digital architectures, ideally within global media, entertainment, sports, or e-commerce sectors.
• Strategic Execution: Demonstrated ability to translate complex business objectives into scalable, secure, and modern cloud-based software solutions.
• Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence C-suite executives, board members, and external commercial partners.
• Crisis & Operations Management: Calm under pressure, with experience managing high-stakes live environments, such as global broadcast events or high-traffic matchday operations.

• Experience integrating emerging technologies such as AI-driven analytics, machine learning, or next-generation CRM systems into consumer platforms.
• A deep understanding of sports-science technology, athlete data tracking systems, or smart-stadium innovations.
