As a Personal Injury Claims Handler, you will play a pivotal role in managing a diverse portfolio of injury-related claims stemming from motor, fleet, private client, and public liability cases. Working within a collaborative, hybrid environment, you will take ownership of the full claim lifecycle, ensuring fair settlements while helping to mentor junior colleagues in a supportive, professional atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Portfolio Management: Manage a diverse portfolio of personal injury claims originating from motor, fleet, private client, and public liability cases from initial notification through to final settlement.
- Litigation & Settlement Negotiation: Proactively negotiate settlements and manage litigation processes, ensuring optimal, cost-effective outcomes in line with Irish civil liability frameworks.
- MGA & Insurer Collaboration: Act as a key liaison between MGAs and insurers, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and utilising various industry databases and systems to ensure seamless reporting.
- Efficient Cycle Management: Drive claims progression efficiently, aiming to maintain an average claim lifecycle of 60 days, with damage settlements targeted within the 28-to-30-day range.
- Mentorship & Support: Share your expertise to support and mentor junior team members, helping to foster a high-performance culture focused on continuous development.
Required Skills & Experience
- Irish Claims Expertise: You must possess a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in personal injury claims handling specifically within the Irish market.
- Litigation & Negotiation Skills: Strong practical knowledge of the Irish litigation process and a proven track record of successful settlement negotiations.
- Regulatory & System Familiarity: Sound understanding of key insurance databases, industry systems, and Irish regulatory compliance standards.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust with claimants, insurers, and legal professionals.
- Dublin-Based / Hybrid Ready: Located in or around Dublin, with a desire to work in a hybrid setup (please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this permanent, full-time position).
Nice-to-Have
- High-Volume Claims Management: Experience managing high-volume claims portfolios (ideally carrying 150 to 200 active claims per handler).
- Industry Qualifications: Progress towards or completion of relevant CIP, MDI, or ACII qualifications.
