Freelance Account Director, Social First Agency

A fast-paced, social-first agency is looking for an experienced Freelance Account Director to join on a contract basis. This role sits at the center of senior client relationships, always-on social and integrated content campaigns, working closely with creative, strategy and production teams to keep work moving at pace while staying culturally relevant, platform-native and commercially effective.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading day-to-day relationships with senior clients
  • Managing integrated social and content campaigns from brief through to delivery
  • Working closely with creative, strategy, production and influencer teams
  • Managing timelines, budgets, scope and client expectations
  • Overseeing fast-turnaround and always-on social work
  • Supporting pitches, new briefs and account growth
  • Spotting opportunities to deepen the client relationship
  • Keeping multiple projects and stakeholders moving at pace

What we're looking for

  • Strong Account Director-level experience within a social-first, digital or content-led agency
  • Excellent understanding of social platforms, content formats and how brands show up culturally
  • Experience managing always-on social alongside larger campaign moments
  • Strong senior client handling skills
  • Commercial confidence around budgets, scope and account growth
  • Comfortable working in fast-moving environments with tight turnarounds
  • Able to work closely with creative and strategy teams and challenge constructively
  • Confident managing multiple workstreams at once
  • Available for freelance / contract work

Nice to have

  • A track record of supporting pitches and new business, and spotting ways to grow existing accounts
