Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Centre Infrastructure Project Manager to support a critical infrastructure programme at a live hyperscale data centre site in Kronstorf, Upper Austria.

This is a freelance contract role. Candidates must already have their own company setup or local contractor trading structure in place and must be able to contract through that entity.

Candidates must also already have the legal right to work in Austria. This means they must hold the correct visa, work permit, residency status or EU work authorisation required to work on site in Austria.

This role is focused on the on site delivery of physical data centre infrastructure within a live operational environment, supporting high density compute and machine learning deployment.

You will coordinate across IT deployment, facilities, M&E, contractors, vendors and operational teams to make sure the programme is delivered safely, on time and with minimal disruption to live operations.

This is not a remote role. The successful candidate must be able to work on site in Kronstorf, near Linz, Austria.

What You Will Do • Lead the delivery of data centre infrastructure workstreams in a live hyperscale environment • Coordinate activity across IT deployment, facilities, M&E, contractors, vendors and site teams • Manage programme schedules, risks, dependencies, blockers and reporting • Support readiness across power, cooling, fibre, cabling, server deployment and high density compute infrastructure • Drive installation, integration, commissioning readiness and operational handover • Track progress against programme milestones and site requirements • Identify issues early and escalate risks before they impact delivery • Work closely with technical teams to ensure activity is planned, sequenced and delivered correctly • Maintain clear project updates, delivery trackers and stakeholder reporting • Ensure all work is carried out in line with site processes, safety standards and operational expectations

What We Are Looking For • Experience delivering data centre or mission critical infrastructure programmes • Strong experience working in live or operational environments • Proven ability to coordinate across contractors, vendors, engineers and site stakeholders • Exposure to power, cooling, fibre, cabling, server deployment or high density compute infrastructure • Strong programme delivery skills, including schedule management, risk management and dependency tracking • Comfortable working on site and engaging directly with technical teams • Able to support delivery through to commissioning readiness and handover • Clear communicator with strong reporting and stakeholder management skills • Able to work on site in Kronstorf, Upper Austria • Able to contract on a freelance basis through your own company setup or local contractor trading structure • Already hold the legal right to work in Austria

Core Technical Skills

Data Centre Infrastructure Delivery Experience delivering infrastructure programmes in live or operational data centre environments.

Hyperscale Deployment Coordination Experience coordinating across IT deployment, facilities, M&E, contractors, vendors and operational teams.

Programme and On Site Delivery Management Proven ability to manage schedules, risks, dependencies, stakeholder updates and on site delivery through to handover.

Must Have Experience • Data centre or mission critical infrastructure delivery experience • Experience working in live or operational environments • Strong stakeholder, vendor and contractor coordination experience • Exposure to power, cooling, fibre, cabling, server deployment or high density compute infrastructure • Ability to work on site in Kronstorf, near Linz, Austria • Own company setup or local contractor trading structure for freelance engagement • Legal right to work in Austria before starting
