Aftersales Manager – Busy Car Dealership (Reading)

Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 OTE (Basic + Bonus) Location: Reading

About the Role

Our client, a busy and well-established car dealership in Reading, is looking for an experienced Aftersales Manager to lead their Service and Parts operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a thriving business where customer satisfaction and operational excellence are at the forefront.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving aftersales performance, managing a dedicated team, and ensuring the delivery of a first-class customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Aftersales department (Service & Parts), ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Drive departmental performance in line with manufacturer and dealership KPIs (profitability, CSI, labour efficiency, etc.).
  • Manage, motivate, and develop a high-performing team of Service Advisors, Technicians, and Parts personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with all manufacturer standards, warranty procedures, and company policies.
  • Analyse departmental performance, implement improvement strategies, and maximise revenue opportunities.
  • Maintain a strong focus on customer experience, handling escalations and ensuring customer retention.
  • Control budgets, costs, and stock management to achieve departmental profitability.

About You

  • Proven track record in a senior Aftersales role within a franchised car dealership.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills with the ability to motivate a team.
  • Commercially astute with a focus on financial performance and operational efficiency.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Organised, results-driven, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of DMS systems (e.g., Kerridge/Keyloop, Pinnacle, CDK) desirable.
