Finance Manager

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Technical Accountant/Finance Manager to join our dynamic team in Chester. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both technical and financial accounting, ideally alongside audit experience. You will be responsible for a small team, developing strategies for financial growth, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the end-to-end financial operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS/UK GAAP and other regulatory standards.
• Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, managing the entire audit process from planning to completion and implementing any recommended improvements.
• Provide strategic financial insights and guidance to the executive team to support long-term business planning and decision-making.
• Develop and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies to mitigate risk and improve efficiency across the finance function.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified accountant.
• Proven experience in a senior accounting or finance manager role.
• Demonstrable experience managing external audit processes, either from an industry or practice perspective.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS and/or UK GAAP.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
