Our client is a New York-based recruitment agency with a total focus on the AI market. They partner exclusively with high-growth AI and ML startups in the US — from seed-stage companies to Series A teams backed by some of the biggest names in tech. With a strong brand, a high-quality inbound pipeline, and a reputation for excellence in a fast-moving market, they're now building out their candidate delivery function with top South African recruitment talent.

The Role As the engine of our client's candidate delivery operation, you'll be identifying and qualifying top-tier AI and ML talent across the US market.

Working South African hours aligned to US Eastern time (approximately 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM SAST), you'll own the full candidate journey from sourcing through to first interview, supporting a New York-based client team.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and engage high-calibre candidates across the US AI and ML market using LinkedIn Recruiter, Atlas CRM, JuiceBox, and targeted outreach
• Conduct thorough candidate screens using structured templates, assessing technical background, market fit, and role alignment
• Manage candidate pipelines proactively, maintaining strong relationships and clear communication throughout
• Match screened candidates to live job briefs and present qualified profiles to the relevant account manager
• Revive and enrich existing candidate records in the Atlas database alongside building a continuous pipeline of new talent
• Participate in client briefing calls and use AI tools (transcripts, LLMs) to inform sourcing strategy
• Contribute ideas to improve sourcing workflows and candidate engagement

What Our Client is Looking For

• Proven track record in a 360 or delivery-focused recruitment role, ideally within tech, AI, data, or engineering
• Hands-on experience recruiting for the US market – you understand the lingo, the culture, and the legal nuances (e.g. no salary history questions in New York)
• Strong sourcing skills across LinkedIn Recruiter; experience with JuiceBox or similar tools is a major plus
• Excellent English communication skills – written and verbal – with the confidence to engage senior technical candidates
• Self-starter mentality: you take initiative, manage your time well, and don't need hand-holding to perform
• Comfortable working US-aligned hours from South Africa (midday to approximately 9 PM SAST)
• Ambitious and money-motivated – you want to build a high-performing desk and earn accordingly

Compensation & Benefits

Base: R30,000 – R46,500 Commission: $750 per placement (fees under $50k) | $1,000 per placement ($50k–$99k) | $1,500 per placement ($100k+)
