Role Overview
A growing, well-capitalized company in the hospitality and real estate space is seeking a Senior Fixed Asset Accountant to join its corporate finance team in Atlanta. This is an ideal opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong fixed asset experience and a passion for accuracy, process improvement, and financial integrity. You will take hands-on ownership of fixed asset processes with visibility across departments in a supportive, high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete fixed asset lifecycle, including preparing and recording journal entries for additions, disposals, and depreciation, and reconciling the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close activities, assisting with the preparation of financial statements and maintaining compliance with GAAP.
- Prepare monthly budget vs. actual variance reports for a portfolio of 40+ properties, researching and resolving P&L inquiries.
- Collaborate with finance, IT, and operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and support external audit and tax inquiries.
- Contribute to ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and financial integrity.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, including specific experience in fixed asset accounting.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Sage FAS and/or Oracle NetSuite.
- Experience in the real estate or hospitality industry.
