Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. You will play a key part in shaping our network strategy, supporting business growth, and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage complex LAN, WAN, and wireless network solutions across multiple sites
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime
  • Ensure network security by implementing and maintaining firewalls, VPNs, and other security measures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new projects and business initiatives
  • Conduct regular network assessments, capacity planning, and performance tuning
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of network architecture, configurations, and procedures
  • Lead network upgrades, migrations, and integration projects
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support staff
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer in a complex, multi-site environment
  • In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS)
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar enterprise networking equipment
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs)
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools
  • Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or similar) is highly desirable
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are highly advantageous
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
