Fund Controller

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee all fund-level financial reporting, compliance, and operational activities for our venture capital firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fund accounting within a venture capital or private equity environment, ensuring the integrity of our financial operations and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily accounting operations for the fund, including the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and comprehensive investor reports.
• Manage the full cycle of capital calls and distributions, monitor fund cash flow, and maintain portfolio company valuation tracking and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with external partners, including fund administrators, auditors, and legal/tax counsel, to ensure compliance, support tax filing processes, and facilitate annual audits.
• Ensure strict adherence to GAAP and all relevant accounting standards while actively contributing to the enhancement of financial systems and the strengthening of internal controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of direct fund accounting experience within a venture capital or private equity firm.
• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, fund structures, and capital account maintenance.
• Proven experience coordinating with fund administrators and external auditors.
• Proficiency in accounting/reporting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Investran, or similar).
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or other relevant professional certification.
• Experience working in a fully remote environment.
• Candidates located on the East Coast of the United States are preferred.
