Role Overview

Joining the Operational Risk Shared Services – Strategy & Systems Team within Group Risk Management (GRM), the Data Migration Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring data integrity during complex migration processes. You will serve as the bridge between technical execution and business requirements, collaborating with cross-functional teams to validate legacy data and maintain the highest standards of accuracy within our risk technology ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Validation & Scripting: Develop and execute advanced SQL-based scripts and Python workflows to validate legacy data, identify quality inconsistencies, and generate comprehensive gap analysis reports.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business stakeholders to define robust data validation rules, document technical requirements, and translate business logic into technical workflows.
  • Process Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including data mapping, workflow processes, and integrity reports to ensure full auditability.
  • Migration Management: Coordinate with cross-functional technical teams to monitor migration progress, diagnose challenges, and implement creative problem-solving strategies to keep the project on schedule.
  • System Integrity: Ensure seamless data translation between systems, specifically focusing on the Archer GRC platform to support operational risk frameworks.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL (DDL, DML, Stored Procedures) and Python (Pandas, DataFrames) for relational database management.
  • Proven track record in identifying data inconsistencies and managing large-scale data migration projects.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical business partners.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Prior experience with Archer (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) or similar GRC platforms.
  • Familiarity with operational risk frameworks or issue management systems within a financial services environment.
