Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Care Manager to lead and manage one of our established residential care homes. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the home, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care that meets and exceeds CQC (Care Quality Commission) standards. You will lead a team of care professionals, manage budgets, and foster a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for both residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational & CQC Compliance: Oversee all day-to-day operations of the care home, ensuring full compliance with CQC regulations, health and safety legislation, and internal policies. Proactively lead on inspections, audits, and continuous improvement plans to maintain or achieve an 'Outstanding' rating.
  • Staff Leadership & Management: Recruit, train, supervise, and appraise a team of care staff. Foster a positive and collaborative team culture, manage rotas effectively, and ensure all staff receive ongoing professional development to deliver the highest standards of care.
  • Resident Care & Wellbeing: Champion person-centred care by ensuring all care plans are regularly reviewed, updated, and tailored to the individual needs and preferences of each resident. Act as the primary point of contact for residents, their families, and external healthcare professionals.
  • Financial & Resource Management: Manage the home's budget effectively, controlling expenditure and ensuring financial viability. Oversee the procurement of supplies and equipment, ensuring the home is well-resourced to meet the needs of its residents.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Registered Manager or a highly experienced Deputy Manager in a residential care setting.
  • NVQ Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
  • In-depth knowledge of CQC regulations and a track record of achieving 'Good' or 'Outstanding' ratings.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience in managing services for specific needs (e.g., dementia, learning disabilities).
  • A clinical qualification (e.g., RGN/RMN) would be an advantage.
