Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Business Analyst- Digital Banking, for a 12-month contract based in Toronto. This hybrid role is situated within our Digital Banking division, where you will act as a critical liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams. You will be responsible for driving the requirements lifecycle for online and mobile banking initiatives, ensuring that solutions align with strategic business objectives and technical feasibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements Management: Define the business analysis approach, develop comprehensive requirements plans, and lead the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of detailed business and system specifications.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate collaborative workshops with diverse stakeholder groups to drive discovery, review, and prioritisation of requirements while managing expectations and resolving conflicts.
  • Agile Delivery: Create and maintain user stories, process maps, and context diagrams within an Agile framework, supporting development and QE teams through defect triage and requirements clarification.
  • Risk & Quality Assurance: Identify and manage risks, assumptions, and constraints related to requirements, ensuring all deliverables adhere to enterprise standards and methodology.
  • Knowledge Management: Build and maintain a repository of reusable documentation to streamline future digital initiatives and maintain consistency across the BA team.

What program/technology/software knowledge is essential for this role? Describe in what capacity the selected candidate will be using it:

·        Minimum Bachelor’s degree. Specialization in Business, Finance, Engineering, Math or Sciences is desirable

·        Business Analyst designation – would be an asset.

·        3-6 years experience as a Business Analyst

·        Experience in all/most facets of project lifecycle; strong comprehension of project management methodologies; genuine commitment to project environment and discipline

·        Experience in identifying and assessing key business processes

·        Experience in financial services - would be an asset

·        Experience in Information Technology field – would be an asset

Must-have Skills/Experiences and/or Education, certifications, qualifications, designations:

·        5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst and/or Business Systems Analyst, preferably within large Financial Institutions.

·        Strong experience in both business and technical analysis, with the ability to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions.

·        Experience with user stories, business and systems specifications, business context diagrams, business process maps, use cases and user story maps.

·        Experience working on Digital (Online and Mobile) banking projects

·        Hands-on experience with agile methodologies and working on agile projects

·        Experience in requirements elicitation techniques such as Document analysis, Interviews, facilitated workshops, Observation, Prototyping, Focus groups, Surveys

Nice-to-have Skills/Experience and/or Education, certifications, qualifications, designations:

·        Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Project Management Institute –Professional in Business Analysis Certification (PMI – PBA)

·        Agile certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), or similar.

·        Previous experience in Salesforce CRM and related salesforce certification

·        Master’s Certificate in Business Analysis

Soft skills:

·        Ability to quickly learn organizational structure, business strategies and processes

·        Lead discussions on detailed requirement phases, identifying, tracking, escalating and/or resolving business systems issues

·        Write clear and well-structured business requirements documents

·        Advanced ability to resolve minor conflicts/issues using different tactics for prior to escalation

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

·        Strong written and verbal communication skills

·        Advanced facilitation and presentation skills

·        Good organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent activities and to work successfully under pressure
