Digital Illustrator (Children's Books)

Are you a skilled digital artist with an eagle eye for detail and a talent for visual consistency? Slash Staffing is looking for a talented Digital Illustrator based in the Philippines to join our team in a full-time, permanent remote role. If you take pride in technical precision and want to expand your production expertise while bringing vibrant children's book projects to life, this is an exceptional opportunity to sharpen your craft and grow your creative career.

In this position, you will focus on high-fidelity artwork recreation, taking client-provided AI-generated concept art and reference materials and translating them into polished, print-ready illustrations. Rather than building concepts from scratch, your mission is to master style replication, ensure character uniformity across multi-page layouts, and elevate base artwork into professional publications. You will gain hands-on experience navigating the technical nuances of modern publishing workflows and prepress standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Recreate, adapt, and refine reference illustrations for children's books to achieve immaculate, high-resolution visuals.
• Maintain rigorous visual consistency across characters, proportions, colour palettes, and artistic styles throughout entire multi-page books.
• Implement structured revisions and detailed client feedback swiftly and accurately.
• Prepare final artwork according to professional print specifications, ensuring correct bleed, trim, sizing, and 300 DPI resolution.
• Manage asset pipelines and maintain organized file structures across multiple concurrent publication projects to consistently meet delivery milestones.

Required Skills & Experience

• Demonstrable background in digital illustration, 2D art recreation, or graphic design, supported by a portfolio showing strong style replication and consistency.
• Proficiency in professional digital art software, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Procreate, or equivalent tools.
• Exceptional attention to detail with proven ability to match colours, shapes, and character features from supplied references.
• Solid understanding of digital prepress and print preparation standards, including resolution parameters, formatting, and bleed specifications.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to follow briefs closely and manage revision rounds effectively.

Nice-to-have

• Prior experience illustrating children's books or working within commercial picture book publishing.
• Experience managing multi-page narrative art assets and publishing production cycles.
