
We are seeking a Technical Business Development Manager to immerse themselves fully into the Anchor Systems product offering, culture and strategy. You will be responsible for establishing and expanding a strong customer base, developing new business opportunities across all sectors, and promoting our systems to both existing and prospective clients. This role offers a high degree of autonomy, supported by a knowledgeable and collaborative team. Success in this role requires motivation, technical capability, strong relationship building skills, and the ability to identify and capitalise on market opportunities. Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development • Plan and prioritise workload to achieve personal and agreed sales targets. • Develop new business opportunities across all relevant sectors domestically and internationally. • Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers while establishing new leads and opportunities. • Regular meetings with customers and prospects both face to face, on the phone and virtual • Promote the Anchor Systems brand and drive sales through specification and technical engagement. • Identify market shifts, competitor activity and potential opportunities to advance the product range and business strategy. • Prepare and deliver high quality quotations, sales forecasts and projections. Technical Expertise & Representation • Develop and maintain a deep technical understanding of all Anchor Systems products and services. • Confidently present, demonstrate and promote systems to clients, contractors, engineers and specifiers. • Deliver technical presentations, CPDs and industry-led sessions within civil engineering and construction sectors. • Attend live projects to provide advice, support and aftersales care. • Collaborate with internal teams including engineering, operations, and marketing to support projects and market initiatives. Sector & Market Development • Contribute to strategic sector development and support the creation of targeted plans for growth. • Monitor customer pipelines, market trends, project opportunities and potential client spend levels. • Shape and support marketing activities with insights, case studies and technical content. Producing monthly, quarterly and annual reports on sales performance, market activity and pipeline progression. • Analysing what is working and what is not including customers, sectors, product uptake and lead sources. • Identifying strong performing sectors and target markets with growth potential.
Skills & Experience Required • 3 to 4 years of industry related business development experience (construction, civils, geotechnical, groundworks or similar). • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand engineering led products and solutions. • Highly motivated, proactive and self directed, with strong organisational skills. • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, confident when engaging with technical and nontechnical audiences. • Comfortable working independently or as part of a wider team. • Highly numerate with the ability to work out project specifications. • Able to work under pressure, manage deadlines and adapt to fast moving project requirements. • Willing to travel and physically fit meet the demands of site and project visits. • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
