About the role
A leading Canadian bank is launching a multi-year program to deliver DTCC-driven settlement changes across its North American capital markets business. As Settlements Analyst, you'll be the settlements subject-matter voice on the program, leading impact analysis on settlement processes and defining how operations will run once partial settlement and the new messaging standards go live.
What you'll do
- Lead current-state analysis of securities settlement processes across Toronto, New York and Houston.
- Assess the operational impact of DTCC changes, including partial settlement and messaging format changes, across impacted systems and teams.
- Define future-state settlement workflows, exception handling and controls with Operations, Technology and business stakeholders.
- Write clear business requirements, process maps and user stories for each impacted area.
- Work with the Technical Analyst to connect operational requirements to system and message-level changes.
- Build test scenarios, support SIT and UAT, and validate settlement outcomes end to end.
- Prepare operational readiness materials, including updated procedures and cutover support.
What you bring
- 7+ years in capital markets settlements, as a Business Analyst or in a settlements operations role on change programs.
- Strong knowledge of the securities trade lifecycle, especially clearing, matching and settlement.
- Hands-on experience with DTCC services and processes (e.g., DTC, NSCC, CTM or similar).
- Understanding of partial settlement, fails management and settlement exception handling.
- Experience with Broadridge settlement platforms, such as BPS.
- Proven ability to run workshops and manage stakeholders across Operations, Technology and the business.
- Clear, structured documentation and communication skills.
Nice to have
- Experience on T+1, CSDR or other settlement regulatory programs.
- Exposure to both Canadian (CDS) and U.S. settlement markets.
- Familiarity with ISO 20022 settlement messaging.
