Key Responsibilities
- Manage an active, varied employee relations caseload across the business, overseeing disciplinary, grievance, capability, conduct, and absence management matters from start to finish.
- Coach, advise, and upskill line managers throughout formal processes, guiding them through investigations, hearings, and appeals with sound people management advice.
- Produce precise, high-quality documentation, including comprehensive outcome letters, investigation reports, and case notes, while ensuring strict confidentiality and GDPR compliance.
- Keep internal HR policies up to date by tracking developments in UK employment legislation and integrating best practice into day-to-day operations.
- Partner with the HR Manager on complex ER issues and support strategic organisational changes, including restructures, consultations, and the integration of acquired businesses.
Required Skills & Experience
- Demonstrable experience in an HR Advisor or ER-focused role managing a wide breadth of concurrent employee relations cases.
- Thorough, up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law, compliance requirements, and HR best practice.
- Proven ability to coach, influence, and build credible working relationships with managers at all levels.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of producing clear, well-reasoned ER and policy documentation.
- Strong prioritisation and organisational abilities, capable of balancing competing demands in a fast-paced working environment.
Nice-to-have
- Practical exposure to TUPE transfers, collective consultations, or post-acquisition business integrations.
- Experience delivering HR advisory support within multi-site, operational, or service-led environments.
- CIPD qualification (Level 3, Level 5, or Level 7) or currently working towards completion.
