Are you an alert, dependable security professional ready to make a tangible impact every single day?

Lodge Security is looking for an observant and proactive Security Officer to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis (37 hours per week), working on-site at Coventry College in Coventry. In this vital role, you will serve as a reassuring, professional presence, protecting campus grounds, supporting staff and students, and keeping daily operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular, thorough foot patrols across Coventry College buildings, educational facilities, and perimeter grounds to ensure complete premises security.
• Manage access points, supervise visitor badging, issue passes, and enforce rigorous sign-in procedures to safeguard the campus community.
• Handle front-line incident response promptly, utilizing conflict de-escalation techniques to address confrontations safely and professionally.
• Monitor entry barriers, check credentials, and prevent unauthorised personnel from entering the facility.
• Maintain clear, accurate incident logs and daily records of all security-related events and site activities.

Required Skills & Experience

• A valid, active SIA Licence (Door Supervisor or Security Guard licence).
• Proven experience in access control, visitor management, and enforcing entry protocols.
• Demonstrated background in conducting physical security checks, building patrols, and monitoring educational or multi-building facilities.
• Strong incident response capabilities and proven conflict management and de-escalation skills.
• Professional communication abilities with the confidence to interact constructively with students, visitors, and staff.
• Existing right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available).

Nice-to-have

• Prior experience with CCTV monitoring and surveillance systems.
• Background working within educational or campus environments.
• Familiarity with alarm monitoring systems and control room operations.
