Director, Application Architect

Aquila Talent Solutions

United States · Permanent · Remote · $200,000 - $225,000/year

How often do you get the chance to architect an entire enterprise application ecosystem from a blank canvas, completely free from legacy debt?

Aquila Talent Solutions is seeking a hands-on, high-impact Director, Application Architect based in the United States to shape and drive the core technology landscape for Rose BioSolutions. Stepping into an individual-contributor leadership role reporting directly to the CIO, you will lead the technical transition away from a former parent company’s shared services. You will design, integrate, and govern an enterprise-grade stack connecting SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, Salesforce CRM, Ironclad, UKG, QMS, and LIMS across a regulated life sciences manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect the Enterprise Ecosystem: Own the end-to-end architecture and integration across core platforms (SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, Salesforce, Ironclad, UKG, QMS, and LIMS), defining data flows, middleware patterns (e.g., Boomi, MuleSoft), and system-of-record decisions.
  • Lead Technical Carve-Out & TSA Exit: Drive the technical separation from the former parent company, orchestrating data disentanglement, new instance stand-ups, cutover timing, and the closure of the Transition Service Agreement (TSA).
  • Direct Hands-On Configuration: Work directly within systems to evaluate design, integration, and configuration choices, maintaining technical independence rather than relying entirely on systems integrators.
  • Oversee GxP Validation & Compliance: Establish Computer System Validation (CSV) and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance standards, managing the continuous revalidation strategy necessitated by SAP Public Cloud’s quarterly release schedule.
  • Drive AI Integration & Vendor Governance: Identify and responsibly apply native AI capabilities (such as SAP Joule/Business AI and Salesforce Agentforce/Einstein) to operational workflows, while managing vendor contracts, licensing, and renewals.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven Architecture Track Record: 8 to 10 years of enterprise application architecture experience, including hands-on implementation work with SAP, Salesforce CRM, Ironclad, and UKG.
  • Life Sciences & GxP Expertise: Deep knowledge of QMS and LIMS platforms within a CDMO or regulated life sciences environment, backed by robust experience in CSV and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.
  • Public Cloud Validation Skills: Practical background managing continuous, recurring validation cycles driven by fixed SaaS/public cloud vendor update schedules.
  • Integration Mastery: Demonstrated ability to define complex integration patterns, master data flows, and middleware architectures using enterprise iPaaS platforms.
  • Education & Communication: A Bachelor’s degree, paired with the communication clarity to move effortlessly between executive whiteboard sessions and technical configuration deep-dives.

Nice-to-Have

  • Relevant professional certifications across SAP, Salesforce, or core enterprise platforms.
  • Direct experience navigating corporate divestitures, carve-outs, or operating under a Transition Service Agreement (TSA).

Why Join

This is a rare greenfield opportunity to establish the architectural foundation of a standalone life sciences organization from day one. You will have total ownership of the application roadmap, direct access to executive leadership, and the freedom to build modern, AI-ready systems without having to compromise around inherited technical debt.
