Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Project Manager - Banking, Risk Management, for a 6-month contract within our Banking Delivery Management Office (DPMO). The successful candidate will lead small to medium-sized complex projects, navigating a matrixed environment to deliver strategic initiatives. You will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from charter development to financial forecasting, while ensuring rigorous adherence to enterprise governance standards and KPIs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Direct the end-to-end lifecycle of complex projects, managing scope, budget, and integrated delivery plans to ensure commitments are met within time and quality parameters.
  • Governance & Reporting: Perform DPMO governance duties, including KPI analytics, compliance reviews, and the production of high-quality project artifacts and status reports for executive stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and sustain relationships with accountable executives and matrix partners, chairing regular governance forums and core team meetings to manage risks and issues.
  • Financial Management: Oversee project budgets, including monthly forecasting, payment processing, and resolving financial discrepancies.
  • Operational Support: Manage SharePoint hierarchies, provide support to PPM tool users, and contribute to the standardisation of the Project Control Officer (PCO) practice through coaching and template development.

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

1. 8+ years of experience with project management skills including multiple aspects of the PMBOK (i.e., Project Management Institute's PM Body of Knowledge)

2. Knowledge and expertise in the use of project tools (e.g. Clarity, MS Project, SharePoint repositories, Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC))

3. 2+ years of experience with change management

4. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft office tools (Excel, Word, PPT) and strong experience with presenting to stakeholders

5. 5+ years of experience managing budget and financial activities

Nice-To-Have Skills:

1. Knowledge of PowerPoint BI

2. Holding a valid PMP designation from the Project Management Institute (PMI) or another valid program management certification (e.g. Prince 2)

3. Previous Banking Experience

4. Knowledge of risk management skills
