Acting as the ultimate technical authority, you will collaborate closely with advisory and compliance teams to ensure the highest calibre of financial planning advice, particularly for high-net-worth clients navigating complex wealth structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Advice & Sign-Off: Review, challenge, and sign off on sophisticated financial plans, ensuring absolute suitability, compliance, and alignment with client goals.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the central authority on Irish pensions, ARFs, Master Trusts, wealth preservation, taxation, and estate planning.
- Technical Governance: Partner with Compliance to manage and refine the firm’s technical governance framework, proactively mitigating advisory risks.
- Coaching & Mentoring: Cultivate a culture of continuous learning by mentoring advisors and designing impactful technical training programmes.
- Legislative Oversight: Monitor and interpret shifting tax laws, Revenue guidelines, and regulatory changes to keep the business ahead of the curve.
Required Skills & Experience
- QFA Qualification: Must hold the Qualified Financial Adviser (QFA) designation as a critical requirement.
- Irish Pensions Expertise: Deep, practical knowledge of Irish Pensions & Retirement Planning, including complex decumulation and corporate structures.
- Technical Advice Background: Proven track record of reviewing, structuring, and approving high-level financial planning recommendations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Robust understanding of the Irish regulatory landscape, Central Bank codes, and compliance standards.
- Communication Skills: Superb ability to translate intricate legislative and tax concepts into clear, actionable advice for internal stakeholders.
- Right to Work: Must already possess the unrestricted right to work in Ireland, as visa sponsorship is not available.
Nice-to-Have
- CFP Designation: Certified Financial Planner (CFP) status or progress towards it is highly advantageous.
- Specialist Credentials: Additional designations such as Retirement Planning Advisor (RPA) or tax-related qualifications.
- HNW Experience: Background supporting high-net-worth clients or working within a premier wealth management consultancy.
