Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Events Crew Member to join our dynamic team in London. You will be instrumental in the successful execution of a wide range of events, from corporate conferences and exhibitions to festivals and private functions. This role involves the hands-on installation (build-up) and dismantling (derig) of event infrastructure, including staging, lighting, sound equipment, and scenery. The ideal candidate is a proactive team player with a strong work ethic and previous experience in the events industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload trucks with event equipment, ensuring safe and secure transportation.
- Assist with the build-up and breakdown of event structures, including staging, AV equipment, lighting rigs, and set pieces, following technical plans and instructions.
- Work efficiently and safely as part of a team, adhering to all on-site health and safety regulations.
- Maintain equipment and report any damages or faults to the site supervisor.
- Provide general site support during event builds and strikes, demonstrating a flexible and can-do attitude.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience working as event crew, stagehand, or in a similar physical role within the events, production, or construction industry.
- Physically fit and able to handle heavy lifting, manual handling, and long hours on your feet.
- Strong understanding of on-site health and safety practices.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Based in or able to easily commute to various locations across London.
Nice-to-Have
- A valid UK driving licence.
- Certifications such as a CSCS card, IPAF, or PASMA.
- Basic knowledge of lighting, sound, or video equipment.
