Role Overview
As a Senior Power Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and optimizing advanced power management solutions for grid-scale applications, renewable energy integration, and hydrogen production facilities. You will lead technical workstreams to ensure the stability, efficiency, and reliability of complex electrical infrastructures transitioning toward a net-zero future.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for zero-emission hydrogen-powered solutions, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with LV, MV, and HV standards.
- Drive innovation in electrical engineering projects, applying first-principles thinking to develop and optimise cutting edge solutions.
- Conduct and self-lead R&D initiatives, integrating mechanical and controls engineering considerations where needed to achieve project goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, communicating complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Mentor and support colleagues within the R&D team, providing guidance and promoting best practices to maintain high technical standards.
- Oversee project compliance with relevant industry directives, standards, and quality frameworks, contributing to robust governance and risk management.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (MSc or PhD preferred) with a focus on Power Systems.
- Extensive experience with power system simulation tools (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, DigSILENT, or MATLAB/Simulink).
- Proven track record in renewable energy projects or grid-scale industrial solutions.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience with Hydrogen Electrolyser power supply architectures.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent professional registration.
- Knowledge of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) integration.
