Summary
We’re looking for a high-level visual designer / Photoshop artist who can create rich, detailed, and textured children’s book illustrations. The focus is on depth, color, and realism (stylized) - not flat or generic designs.
This role is responsible for producing consistent, high-quality visuals across every page, including maintaining the same character and visual style throughout an entire book.
Core Responsibilities
- Create detailed, textured illustrations with strong depth, lighting, and color
- Design consistent characters that remain visually identical across all pages
- Build full scenes (backgrounds, environments, objects) that feel rich and engaging
- Use Photoshop and other tools to compose, enhance, and refine visuals
- Ensure visual consistency across pages and across multiple books
- Deliver final, production-ready artwork
Must-Have
- Strong experience with Photoshop (advanced level)
- Portfolio showing high-detail, textured visuals (this is critical)
- Ability to create depth, lighting, and realistic textures (fabric, furniture, etc.)
- Proven ability to maintain character consistency across multiple scenes
- Strong visual taste - ability to avoid flat or generic designs
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Nice to Have
- Experience with children’s books or storytelling visuals
- Experience combining multiple assets into one cohesive scene
- Familiarity with AI tools or 3D (not required)
