Lodge Security is looking for a dedicated Retail Security Officer to join our team on a permanent, part-time basis on-site at Boots in Southampton. In this role, you will be the friendly face at the door and a reassuring presence inside the store, helping to safeguard colleagues, customers, and products while delivering top-tier service.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible, reassuring presence to deter theft and ensure a safe, welcoming shopping environment for everyone.
• Apply ASCONE principles effectively to identify, monitor, and prevent shoplifting incidents.
• Partner closely with the Boots store management team and colleagues to maintain site safety and report security incidents accurately.
• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers with a professional, approachable manner and defusing tensions through conflict de-escalation.
• Adhere strictly to company procedures, standard operating guidelines, and emergency protocols.

Required Skills & Experience

• A valid, current SIA Licence (Door Supervisor or Security Guarding).
• Proven customer service skills with a smart appearance and a calm, composed approach under pressure.
• Solid understanding of theft prevention practices, stock protection, and ASCONE criteria.
• Ability to demonstrate a continuous 5-year checkable work and education history alongside UK right to work (visa sponsorship is not available).
• Strong team communication skills and a reliable, procedure-led mindset.

Nice-to-have

• Prior experience working within retail security, high street stores, or supermarket environments.
• Practical experience utilising conflict management techniques in busy public-facing settings.
