Role Overview

Our client is disrupting the traditional greeting card industry, rebuilding how people celebrate and connect through physical products layered with digital experiences. Having recently announced a $2.75M seed round and maintaining 30%+ MoM growth, they are looking for a Founding Full Stack Engineer. As one of the earliest hires, you will report directly to the CEO and play a pivotal role in shaping engineering culture and product roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Ownership: Own and ship new features across the full stack, with a primary focus on Node.js backend development, React web, and native iOS as required.
  • Platform Building: Architect our gifting platform, including complex Shopify integrations and novel digital layers on top of our physical card products.
  • Creative Collaboration: Work alongside our world-class design team to translate ambitious creative concepts into polished, delightful consumer experiences.
  • Tooling Development: Build artist-facing tools that empower creators to publish and sell unique designs on the platform.
  • Culture Scaling: Establish engineering standards, processes, and best practices as a foundational member of the technical team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 1–5 years of software development experience with a focus on product-driven environments.
  • Strong proficiency in Node.js and React.js.
  • Proven experience building and shipping consumer-facing products at an early-stage startup.
  • A "scrappy" and autonomous mindset, comfortable navigating the ambiguity of a fast-growing company.
  • Experience using modern AI coding assistants (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) to accelerate development.
  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to New York City for a 5-day in-office culture.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Direct experience with native iOS development.
  • A demonstrated interest in design, the arts, or physical-to-digital consumer goods.
  • Previous experience with e-commerce integrations or the Shopify ecosystem.
