Role Overview

We are seeking a Lead Digital Product Designer for a 12-month contract (with strong potential for extension or conversion) to join our 39-member wealth management design team in Toronto. This role is central to the development of the Advisor Presentation Tool (APT), a critical reporting and proposal platform. You will lead the portfolio management experience, driving the vision for new reporting solutions while mentoring junior designers and collaborating with cross-functional partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Strategy & Delivery: Break down complex financial topics into intuitive digital experiences and present strategic directions effectively to senior stakeholders.
  • Facilitation & Mentorship: Lead design critiques, ideation sessions, and workshops; provide guidance to peers to ensure inclusivity and best practices across the team.
  • Artifact Creation: Develop complex low-fidelity sketches, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes in Figma to communicate ideas and provide technical specifications for development.
  • Research & Testing: Partner with Design Researchers to analyze user data, perform competitive audits within the financial sector, and translate findings into actionable design decisions.
  • Collaboration: Act as a trusted business partner, representing the design practice in demos and removing obstacles to empower cross-functional teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in UX/UI design across web and mobile platforms.
  • Expertise in Figma, Mural/Miro, and working within established Design Systems.
  • Proven ability to translate ambiguous business problems into clear, executable design directions.
  • Deep understanding of accessibility standards, agile methodologies, and UX metrics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or a related field.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience incorporating AI solutions into complex enterprise systems.
  • Background in Salesforce or similar SaaS platforms.
  • Master’s degree (MA/MS) in HCI or Design Strategy.
