Based at our vibrant Liverpool headquarters, this permanent, full-time role offers a hybrid work setup, allowing you to collaborate directly with our teams on-site while enjoying the flexibility of remote working. As our CTO, you will design, scale, and secure the digital infrastructure that connects millions of passionate fans worldwide to the heart of the club.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Define and execute a comprehensive, long-term technology roadmap that aligns with Liverpool FC’s commercial, football, and fan engagement objectives.
• Infrastructure & Scalability: Oversee the modernisation of our enterprise architecture, cloud infrastructure, and stadium technologies to ensure seamless game-day operations and global digital reach.
• Data & Analytics: Champion the development of robust data platforms to enhance decision-making across both the business operations and high-performance sports science departments.
• Security & Compliance: Establish industry-leading cybersecurity protocols and data governance frameworks to protect fan data, club assets, and intellectual property.
• Team Empowerment: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing, diverse team of engineers, developers, and IT specialists, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.

Required Skills & Experience

• Executive Tech Leadership: Proven experience as a CTO, VP of Technology, or a similar senior leadership role, successfully steering digital transformation in a fast-paced environment.
• Architectural Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of cloud computing (AWS/Azure), modern software development practices, and enterprise-grade system integrations.
• Strategic Vision: Exceptional ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable, robust, and secure technological solutions.
• Inspirational People Management: A track record of building, motivating, and managing multidisciplinary technical teams with a supportive, human-centric leadership style.
• Stakeholder Influence: Superb communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence C-suite executives, external partners, and board members.

• Experience working within the sports, media, entertainment, or high-volume ticketing industries.
