Role Overview

This is a senior-level Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) position designed to provide high-impact support across multiple portfolios during critical peak workload periods. The successful candidate will manage operating expense analysis, complex forecasting, and resource planning to address growing budget demands within specific departments. This role is pivotal in ensuring financial stability and providing executive-level advisory support during the year-end closing and new-year budget cycles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Budget Management & Forecasting: Analyse monthly and in-year operating expenses to identify budget pressures and year-end risks; prepare operating budget reallocations and year-end activities.
  • Staffing & Resource Analysis: Support management review of staffing and compensation affordability, including modelling impacts of hiring changes, vacancies, and organisational restructuring scenarios.
  • Year-End & New Year Planning: Support final operating forecasts and reserve analysis across portfolios; validate new fiscal year budgets against approved plans and ensure timely system setup.
  • Executive Advisory: Prepare scenario analyses, briefings, and executive-ready financial summaries to support time-sensitive decision-making by senior management.
  • Standardisation: Support the standardisation of forecasting practices and operating assumptions across various portfolios to ensure consistency and reliability.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of progressive experience in FP&A, budgeting, and financial advisory within a complex organisation.
  • Proven expertise in budget management, including variance analysis and year-end financial activities.
  • Demonstrated experience in staffing affordability modelling and compensation analysis.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement and handle highly confidential financial and staffing information.

Nice-to-have Qualifications

  • Strong experience with SAP or comparable major ERP systems is considered a significant asset.
