Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned IT Project Manager- Banking, PMP, CSM with a strong background in the banking sector to lead complex technical initiatives. This role requires a blend of traditional project management rigour and Agile expertise, acting as both a Project Manager and Scrum Master. You will be responsible for end-to-end delivery, from initial execution planning to final rollout, ensuring all milestones are met within the governed frameworks of a major financial institution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Agile Project Delivery: Lead the end-to-end project lifecycle, preparing execution plans, managing work-back schedules, and ensuring all projects pass through required approval gates.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including risk, legal, and audit teams, ensuring clear communication of project status, risks, and roadblocks.
  • Scrum Mastery: Facilitate scrum ceremonies, manage team capacity, and implement agile engineering best practices to maintain a high-performing and motivated delivery team.
  • Risk & Resource Management: Maintain comprehensive risk trackers, manage project dependencies across various teams, and ensure a balance between team capacity and workload.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the evolution of delivery processes and tools, ensuring alignment of best practices across the wider technology team.

Must have skills:

1. 10 years of experience as a IT Project Manager

2. Demonstrates strong knowledge of Agile methodology while delivering IT projects. Ideally has Certified Scrum master certification (CSM / PSM)

3. Expert knowledge and understanding of project management practices, disciplines, tools, and methodologies.

4. Strong problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills to rapidly assess problem situations.

5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate on a broad spectrum (from deep technical discussions to high level executive vision)

6. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and relationships management skills

7. Must have Agile tools hands on – JIRA, confluence

Nice to have:

1. PMP certified

2. Previous recent experience supporting Top 5 banks

3. Prior experience with Web and mobile development

4. Prior experience with API development

5. Prior experience with application decommissioning is very nice to have for this role

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree level or above education, ideally in business, financial or technology
