Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our Paperless Squad within the retail banking sector. This role is pivotal in driving the digital transformation of bank products, moving traditional paper-based processes into a modern, front-end retail banking portal. You will act as the critical bridge between business stakeholders and technical squads, ensuring that complex requirements are translated into seamless, end-to-end customer journeys.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirement Engineering: Facilitate design sessions with stakeholders to extract and document requirements into high-quality use cases, user stories, sequence diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Solution Design: Drive joint application design (JAD) sessions with architecture, development, and security teams to inform high-level estimates for microservices-based initiatives.
  • Backlog Management: Create, refine, and maintain the product and release backlogs, ensuring alignment between functional business needs and non-functional requirements such as performance and security.
  • Technical Leadership: Lead enterprise process engineering across infrastructure, DevOps, and cryptography teams, while championing a high-performance, inclusive work environment.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Ensure integrity across the end-to-end customer journey by bridging the gap between IT and business units, maintaining centralised documentation in Confluence and SharePoint.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Over 10 years of relevant IT experience, with at least 5 years specifically as a BSA in an Agile or Lean environment.
  • Proven expertise in Microservices architecture and front-end, client-facing applications.
  • Strong technical understanding of Web Services (RESTFUL/SOAP), OpenAPI, and OAuth2.0.
  • Proficiency with the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, BitBucket).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.

Nice-to-Have

  • Previous experience within a major financial institution or Tier 1 bank.
  • Familiarity with secure file transfer and batch integration patterns.
  • Hands-on experience with Postman for API testing.
