Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Advanced Data Quality Analyst to join our Core Data Services team. This is a 6-month contract role based in Bedford, NS. You will be a key member of a collaborative, fast-paced team responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of our core data assets. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, deep technical skills in data manipulation and analysis, and the ability to translate complex data issues into actionable insights for both technical and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth data profiling and analysis to identify data quality issues, anomalies, and patterns, performing root cause analysis to understand their origins.
- Design, develop, and implement data quality rules and controls; partner with technology teams to embed these rules into our data pipelines and systems.
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for data-related initiatives, ensuring that solutions meet business requirements and quality standards.
- Liaise with data consumers and technology partners to troubleshoot data issues, communicate findings, and drive remediation efforts.
- Develop and maintain management reporting and dashboards to provide visibility into data quality metrics and trends.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems).
- Proven experience in data quality, data analysis, or a similar data-centric role.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL for complex query design, data extraction, and analysis.
- Strong programming skills in Python for data manipulation and analysis.
- Expertise in data profiling, pattern recognition, and root cause analysis techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a curious, investigative nature.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for various audiences.
Nice-to-Have Skills & Qualifications
- Master's Degree in a related field.
- Experience with R programming.
- Familiarity with JIRA for project and issue tracking.
