Our client, a highly respected construction consultancy is seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to join their expanding Building Surveying team.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a confident and technically skilled professional who thrives in a client-facing consultancy environment. You’ll be delivering a wide range of surveying and construction projects, advising clients across sectors, and leading on everything from initial feasibility through to completion.

Reports to: Associate Director / Director (Building Surveying) Responsible for: Graduate and Building Surveyors Location: Various (hybrid with regular site visits)

The Role

As a Senior Building Surveyor, you’ll:

  • Act as a trusted consultant and project lead, providing expert advice on construction, refurbishment, and maintenance projects.
  • Deliver a full range of professional building surveying services including condition surveys, dilapidations, PPMs, reinstatement cost assessments, and party wall matters.
  • Lead and manage multiple construction projects, acting as Contract Administrator or Employer’s Agent (JCT/NEC).
  • Oversee design and specification work, ensuring compliance with building and safety regulations.
  • Provide strategic consultancy advice to clients, identifying risks and opportunities to add value.
  • Support and mentor junior surveyors, promoting best practice and professional development.

About You

You’ll be an experienced Building Surveyor with a strong consultancy background and a passion for delivering exceptional results for clients.

Essential:

  • Degree in Building Surveying or related discipline.
  • MRICS / MCIOB qualified (or working towards).
  • Proven experience in construction consultancy or client-side surveying.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building contracts, legislation, and project delivery.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
  • Driving licence

Desirable:

  • PQS or fire safety qualification.
  • Party Wall or EWS accreditation.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, NBS, GoReport, or Microsoft Project.
