Business Development (BD) Recruiter – Tech Contract Recruitment
📍 Location: Tiger Valley, Cape Town (Hybrid: In-office Monday & Thursday, Remote Tuesday–Friday)
About the Company
A fast-growing recruitment agency specialising in tech, data, AI, ML, cloud, ERP, and CRM contract roles. With an established footprint across South Africa, Uganda, the Philippines, and Europe, the business is expanding aggressively and building out its business development team to accelerate growth in the tech contracting space.
This is not a traditional 360 recruitment position — it’s a pure business development role focused on generating new clients and roles. You will not be responsible for candidate delivery; that’s handled by a dedicated delivery team. Your focus is simple: bring in new business, close deals, and earn uncapped commission.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a driven, confident Business Development Recruiter who thrives in a sales-focused environment. If you love cold calling, building relationships, and winning new clients in the tech sector, this role is built for you.
You’ll have access to the right tools, data, and support — all designed to help you succeed in the tech contract recruitment market.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Make 50–100 outbound sales calls daily (KPIs are clear and performance-based)
- Generate and qualify new client leads with the support of internal tools and a research team
- Secure at least 3 new live roles per week across the South African tech market
- Run client discovery and pitch meetings and manage the full BD cycle
- Hand over signed roles to the delivery team for fulfilment (no candidate work required)
- Use a full suite of modern outreach and CRM tools
- Participate in weekly and monthly sales meetings with a results-driven, supportive team
What We’re Looking For
Experience:
- 2–5 years in tech or contract recruitment preferred
- Proven track record in outbound business development or sales
- Open to sales professionals from other industries (call centre, insurance, etc.) who can demonstrate high-volume, high-success outbound experience
Mindset & Skills:
- You love the phone — cold calling, overcoming objections, and closing new business
- A true hunter mindset — competitive, persistent, and target-driven
- Not a delivery recruiter — your focus is purely client acquisition
- Confident communicator with strong objection-handling and pitching skills
- Self-motivated, ambitious, and comfortable in a high-performance environment
Other Requirements:
- Able to work in-office Mondays & Thursdays (Tiger Valley, Cape Town)
- Ideally located in or near the Northern Suburbs
