Role Overview

We are seeking a diligent and proactive Business Continuity Advisor to join our corporate functions team. In this role, you will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and implementation of Business Continuity Management (BCM) plans across our Canadian operations. You will work closely with various business lines and senior management to enhance our resilience against potential disruptions, ensuring that robust contingency plans and recovery strategies are in place and regularly tested.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Business Continuity Management (BCM) plans, including conducting Business Impact Assessments (BIA) to identify critical processes and potential impacts of failures.
  • Coordinate and execute BCM exercises, such as work area recovery tests and incident simulations, to validate planning assumptions and test controls, reporting on outcomes and driving improvements.
  • Advise senior management on continuity strategies, risk identification, and tolerance levels, ensuring all BCM activities conform with enterprise standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with the Enterprise BCM team and business line executives to maintain a resilient incident management capability, acting as a key liaison during incidents and supporting business change initiatives.
  • Utilize Excel and Tableau to provide analysis, insights, and management reporting on function-specific Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), tracking and resolving any identified deficiencies or audit findings.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in Business Continuity, Risk Management, or a related operational risk/audit function within the financial services industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management or business analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Tableau for data analysis and reporting.
  • Exceptional professionalism and solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to liaise effectively with senior management.
  • Must reside in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) to support recovery sites.

Nice-to-Have Skills & Qualifications

  • Professional certification such as ABCP or CBCP.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
  • A university degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with specialized reporting and monitoring tools.
