Role Overview
We are seeking a VP of Data Centre Operations to lead our European expansion. Our partner is a key leader in a premier AI cloud and accelerated compute provider, you will be responsible for the operational excellence, uptime, and strategic growth of our high-density GPU data centre footprint. This is a pivotal role, central to our next phase of European growth, where you will ensure our infrastructure is resilient, scalable, and ready to support the world's most advanced AI teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Own end-to-end operational excellence across our European data centre portfolio, leading teams and partners to deliver best-in-class uptime, incident readiness, and risk management.
- Strategic Expansion: Drive the successful launch of new sites and expansion programmes, from colocation partnerships to new builds, ensuring rapid delivery without compromising safety or resilience.
- Technical & Commercial Oversight: Oversee all aspects of facilities, power, cooling, and network readiness for GPU-dense AI infrastructure, while managing vendor governance, SLAs, and executive stakeholder relationships across the business.
- Team & Culture: Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of senior operations leaders across multiple regions, fostering a culture of structured problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Extensive senior leadership experience in multi-site data centre operations across Europe or EMEA.
- A proven track record of running mission-critical, high-density environments (e.g., GPU, HPC).
- Strong background in colocation operations, including robust partner and vendor management.
- Demonstrable experience delivering new data centre sites and major expansion projects at speed.
- Calm, structured leadership during critical incidents, with a strong focus on post-incident review and rigour.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience with new-build data centre construction projects.
- Direct experience in the AI/ML or accelerated computing infrastructure sector.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience presenting to and working with board-level stakeholders.
