Role Overview

We are a leading general contractor in Montréal specializing in large-scale, heavy residential construction projects. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Construction Project Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our construction projects from planning to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role requires a hands-on leader with a proven track record of managing complex residential builds on the general contractor side.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Execution: Develop, manage, and execute comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for large-scale residential construction projects.
  • Stakeholder & Subcontractor Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and municipal authorities. Oversee the procurement, scheduling, and management of all subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with project specifications and contracts.
  • Budget & Cost Control: Meticulously track project financials, manage costs, process change orders, and provide regular budget reporting to senior management to ensure project profitability.
  • On-Site Supervision & Safety: Ensure all on-site activities adhere to project timelines, quality standards, and rigorous health and safety regulations (CNESST), conducting regular site inspections and progress meetings.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience as a Project Manager specifically within the heavy residential construction sector.
  • A minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience working directly for a General Contractor.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Québec Construction Code, local building regulations, and permitting processes in Montréal.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, from pre-construction to final handover.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with fluency in both French and English.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or other relevant industry certification.
  • Experience with construction management software such as Procore, MS Project, or similar.
  • A strong network of local subcontractors and suppliers in the Montréal area.
