🌍 Network Manager – Freight Forwarding
📍 Altrincham (office-based, Greater Manchester)
💷 £30,000 – £35,000 + bonus + commission + benefits
We’re working with a well-established independent freight forwarder based in Altrincham that’s on the lookout for a Network Manager — a brand-new role designed to help strengthen and grow their international partnerships.
This is a cracking opportunity for someone who loves building relationships and wants to be right at the centre of how a freight business connects with the rest of the world. You’ll be the key point of contact for their overseas agents — making sure relationships stay strong, services run smoothly, and opportunities to grow the network don’t go unnoticed.
No two days will be the same, but here’s the gist:
✈️ Building and managing relationships with international freight forwarding partners (across air, ocean, and rail).
🤝 Negotiating rates, SLAs, and commercial terms — making sure everyone’s winning.
📊 Keeping an eye on partner performance and sorting any hiccups before they turn into headaches.
🌍 Spotting and onboarding new strategic partners across key trade lanes to help expand global reach.
💬 Working closely with internal sales, ops, and management teams to make sure everything lines up between what partners deliver and what clients need.
We’re looking for someone who’s already cut their teeth in freight forwarding — maybe working in air or ocean import/export, network development, or customer service but ready for something bigger and more commercial.
You’ll bring:
✅ Solid understanding of international freight operations (air & sea).
✅ Confidence negotiating, communicating, and managing relationships with overseas partners.
✅ Commercial awareness — you know a good deal when you see one.
✅ The drive to build something — not just manage it.
💷 £30,000 – £35,000 basic salary
💰 Bonus + commission
🏖️ 25 days’ holiday (rising with service)
🏋️♂️ Gym membership (paid for)
🅿️ Paid parking
💼 BUPA, pension, and death in service
It’s a close-knit, supportive team where you’ll be trusted to get on with things — but backed when you need it.
You’ll have the chance to progress further down the line into a Business Development Manager role, but the first step is to really own this role — getting to grips with the network, building those international partnerships, and making it yours.
If you’re the kind of person who builds relationships easily, loves connecting people, and wants to be part of a freight business that’s genuinely going places, this could be the one.
