Role Overview

Joining the Capital Markets Data Management Office, the Data Quality Analyst will play a pivotal role in the Global Surveillance Programme. This role focuses on supporting Capital Markets business lines in adopting data governance principles, ensuring metadata accuracy, and maintaining robust data controls for regulatory reporting. You will act as a bridge between business leaders, auditors, and technology partners to ensure a sustainable operational model and a high standard of data integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Governance Adoption: Support the implementation of data governance strategies and frameworks, ensuring Business Metadata, Stewardship roles, and Data Lineage are accurate for internal and regulatory reporting.
  • Control & Risk Management: Collaborate with stakeholders and auditors to review business controls, conduct risk assessments, and address identified gaps through actionable remediation plans.
  • Data Analysis & Issue Resolution: Perform root cause analysis on data issues, conduct detailed analysis of data flows, and recommend cost-effective resolutions for both structured and unstructured data.
  • Project Governance: Manage cross-functional initiatives by tracking milestones, monitoring deliverable quality, and providing senior leadership with visibility into project progress.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business users to capture requirements, design solutions, and facilitate the delivery of key artifacts such as Business Requirement Documents (BRDs).

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Over 5 years of experience in Financial Services, specifically within Investment or Corporate Banking.
  • Deep knowledge of financial products including Equities, Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, and Derivatives.
  • Extensive experience in data stewardship, data classification, and data lineage.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as BCBS 239, FRTB, Basel III, or Dodd-Frank.
  • Proficiency with data visualisation tools like Tableau.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience with Data Governance tools such as Collibra or IBM Information Governance Catalog (IGC).
  • Working knowledge of SQL for custom querying and analysis.
  • Understanding of AI governance, data architecture, or graph databases.
