What you will do
Artifact creation and execution
- Lead design initiatives of medium to high complexity in partnership across teams and business units
- Create rich prototypes and complex user flows across web, mobile and editorial experiences
- Provide thought leadership on iconography, information graphics, imagery and data visualization
- Own brand-forward digital experiences that stay consistent with RBC's brand value proposition while pushing creative boundaries
- Ensure interactive patterns and visual displays follow accessibility and inclusive design principles
- Run advanced design testing and validation informed by business objectives
Design strategy and business alignment
- Connect design decisions to business objectives, market position and organizational strategy
- Present design strategy to executive stakeholders and fold their feedback into iterations
- Identify knowledge gaps, recommend research and apply insights to design solutions
- Establish and track metrics showing design's contribution to conversion, engagement and customer satisfaction
- Run competitive design audits and research UI behaviour in the competitive landscape
Collaboration and partnerships
- Break down complex topics for broad and senior audiences through clear storytelling
- Partner with Business, Product and Research peers, and remove obstacles for the team
AI experimentation and innovation
- Actively experiment with AI tools and methods in design practice
- Contribute proofs of concept and new creative possibilities that modernize workflows
- Research emerging design strategies and technologies in financial services
Design practice contribution
- Develop patterns and standards that scale across products
- Share insights through presentations and help recruit high-performing talent
