Senior Product Designer

RMG

United Kingdom · Full-time · Permanent · Remote · £70,000 - £80,000/year

Want to design a product people genuinely love? We are hiring a Senior Product Designer for a fast-growing consumer marketplace with members all over the world. It lets people travel with peace of mind, knowing the things they care about most are looked after at home, and it has big plans to grow. This is your chance to shape the experience at the heart of it.

This is a permanent, full-time, remote role for someone based in the United Kingdom. You will be the primary designer in a cross-functional squad, designing the product across iOS, Android and web, from early research through to delivery.

What you'll do

  • Design mobile-first experiences across iOS, Android and web, following platform conventions and the existing design system.
  • Run discovery research and testing for your squad, including user interviews, usability testing and concept testing.
  • Define problems and hypotheses with your squad and choose the right method to validate them.
  • Use product analytics and qualitative feedback to measure impact and guide iteration.
  • Design AI-powered features, such as matching and personalisation, with trust and transparency built in.
  • Use AI tools day to day for exploration, prototyping and research synthesis.
  • Work with product, engineering, research, content, data and commercial teams: explain design decisions, run workshops and agree trade-offs.
  • Contribute to the design system, creating accessible, cross-platform patterns (WCAG).
  • Map end-to-end journeys and service relationships rather than solving problems in isolation.

What you'll need

  • Experience designing complex products across native iOS and Android apps and web, with good knowledge of iOS Human Interface Guidelines and Android Material Design.
  • Hands-on user research experience: choosing methods, running sessions and turning findings into design direction.
  • Strong interaction and visual design skills, including prototyping and working within a mature design system.
  • Experience with design systems and accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Regular use of AI-assisted design or prototyping tools, ideally Cursor, Claude Code or similar, and a genuine belief that AI has a place in the design process.
  • Experience designing consumer products, thinking about how people feel as well as how the product functions, rather than a background mainly in B2B, enterprise or public sector.
  • Comfort helping define the problem yourself, rather than working from a fully scoped brief.
  • When you disagree with a decision, you stay in the conversation and help find a way through.
  • Clear communication and experience working in cross-functional product squads, ideally in a scale-up.
  • A portfolio showing end-to-end work with measurable impact.
  • Based in the United Kingdom with the right to work here. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

  • Experience designing AI/ML features such as recommendation engines or LLM interfaces.
  • Experience in two-sided marketplaces, subscription or membership businesses, or trust and safety products.
  • Experience with self-serve analytics tools (such as Amplitude or Mode) and research repositories (such as Dovetail or Chattermill).

Benefits

  • Discretionary 10% quarterly bonus and an equity package for permanent employees.
  • Salary reviewed annually.
  • 25 days off plus bank holidays and a festive closure between Christmas and New Year.
  • Pension: 5% employee, 3% employer contribution.
  • Bupa health and dental insurance, a healthcare cash plan, an eyecare scheme and weekly virtual yoga.
  • A free annual premium membership of the company's platform, plus five to gift to friends and family.
  • Up to £500 a year towards travel costs when you book a stay through the platform and work remotely from there.
  • Rescue pet adoption fees covered, plus "pawternity" leave.
  • £200 a year for home office equipment, a MacBook and Apple accessories, and access to co-working spaces worldwide.
  • Quarterly all-expenses-paid meetups, funded team events and paid learning and development.
  • Two days of paid volunteering a year.
  • £500 referral bonus.
