Interim Commercial Director | Creative & Digital Agency
London (Hybrid – 3 days per week)
January – May 2027 | 4-month contract
I'm working with an ambitious, independent creative and digital agency looking for an experienced Interim Commercial Director to step into a founder-led commercial role during a four-month period of paternity cover.
The agency works across branding, UI/UX, digital experiences and motion, partnering with startups, scaleups and established global brands.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced agency leader who enjoys being hands-on commercially, building relationships and driving revenue, rather than simply overseeing strategy.
The opportunity:
Take ownership of the agency's commercial function, inheriting an established client base, warm relationships and an active sales pipeline.
Lead and support an existing three-person business development and marketing team.
Drive new business, personally leading pitches, proposals, negotiations and deal closures.
Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts, reactivate previous clients and develop strategic partnerships.
Shape commercial and marketing strategy, ensuring activity translates into profitable revenue.
Work closely with creative and delivery teams to ensure commercial commitments are realistic and margins protected.
Who we're looking for:
Ideally, someone with 10+ years' experience in the creative, branding or digital agency world, with a strong track record of commercial leadership and personally winning business.
You might be a former Agency Founder, Managing Director, Commercial Director or senior New Business / Client Services Director who's comfortable stepping into an established business, making decisions independently and delivering results quickly.
The agency offers a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment, genuine commercial autonomy and the opportunity to make a tangible impact over a relatively short period.
There's also potential for the contract to extend, subject to performance and business requirements.
