The Opportunity
We are working with an established UK tech recruitment business, operating since 2009, with a team of 17 across engineering, design, data and AI, marketing and sales, and product.
They are building a dedicated public sector desk, placing contractors into tech consultancies that deliver digital work for the UK public sector. The desk already has a strong base of live contractors and steady monthly demand from two long-standing clients, so you will be delivering from your first week.
You will be the engine of the desk: building and owning talent pools, turning briefs into shortlists quickly and learning from a consultant who has run this desk for the last year. A second hire is planned as the desk grows.
What You'll Do
- Deliver shortlists for contract roles within 48 hours of a brief landing
- Build and maintain talent pools across around eight core role types, from business analysts and delivery managers to software engineers
- Run screening calls and video calls to assess technical fit, public sector experience and soft skills
- Source through the existing database, LinkedIn job ads, job boards and, where needed, LinkedIn Recruiter projects
- Work with clients over email and Teams chat on live roles
- Keep pay rates and candidate details accurate on every submission
