Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler with a strong background in the banking sector to join our client’s team in Abu Dhabi on a temporary contract basis. This role requires a hands-on professional who can design, implement, and optimize complex data models to support strategic and operational decision-making across the organization. You will be a key player in translating business needs into robust and scalable data structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain logical and physical data models to support business intelligence, analytics, and application development needs within a banking environment.
- Collaborate closely with data engineers, architects, business analysts, and key stakeholders to ensure data models are aligned with business requirements and technical constraints.
- Translate complex business concepts into scalable, efficient data structures, ensuring data consistency, integrity, and quality across various banking systems.
- Champion and enforce data modeling standards, best practices, and governance processes, including comprehensive documentation of data models and dictionaries.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Data Modeler, Data Architect, or a similar role, specifically within the banking or financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts (e.g., Kimball, Inmon), relational databases, and ETL/ELT processes.
- High proficiency with industry-standard data modeling tools such as Erwin, PowerDesigner, or similar.
- Excellent SQL skills for data analysis and validation, with experience working on large-scale data platforms.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Must be immediately available to start and eligible to work in the UAE.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse, Snowflake, AWS Redshift).
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation).
- Knowledge of banking-specific data domains such as retail banking, corporate banking, risk, or compliance.
