Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer specializing in Human Capital Management (HCM) to join our dynamic, remote-first team. In this role, you will be a key member of an Agile team dedicated to building and enhancing cutting-edge healthcare applications. You will leverage your deep expertise in Oracle HCM, data integration, and cloud technologies to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and analytics solutions. This is a senior-level position that requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to solving complex data challenges within the HR and healthcare domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable ETL/ELT data pipelines using tools like OCI Data Integration, Airflow, and Python to process and integrate data from Oracle Fusion HCM and other sources.
 
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR business partners, analysts, and application developers, to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions that support HR analytics, reporting, and application features.
 
- Ensure data integrity, quality, and security by implementing data governance frameworks, data lineage, and adhering to regulatory standards such as HIPAA and GDPR.
 
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and data models within cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake) and BI platforms (e.g., Oracle Analytics Cloud, Power BI) to enable insightful analytics and reporting.
 
- Act as a subject matter expert on the Oracle HCM data model, providing guidance on best practices for data extraction (HDL/HCM Extracts), integration, and consumption.
 
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in data engineering, with at least 3+ years specifically supporting HR/HCM systems.
 
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation and pipeline development.
 
- Proven experience with the Oracle HCM ecosystem, including a strong understanding of the Oracle Fusion HCM data model, HDL/HCM Extracts, and OTBI.
 
- Hands-on expertise with cloud data platforms (OCI, AWS, or Azure) and modern ETL/ELT tools (e.g., OCI Data Integration, Airflow, dbt, Informatica).
 
- Solid understanding of data governance, data quality frameworks, and HR data security standards (HIPAA, GDPR).
 
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
 
Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Qualifications
- Prior experience in a consulting capacity or supporting large-scale HCM implementations.
 
- Familiarity with data warehousing solutions like Snowflake and BI platforms such as Oracle Analytics Cloud, Power BI, or Tableau.
 
- Technical certifications in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Python, or other relevant data technologies.
