Role Overview

We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to join our growing team in Chicago. This role is focused on identifying new business opportunities and managing client relationships within the transportation, logistics, and supply chain sector. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in brokerage sales and a deep understanding of the transportation landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and prospect potential clients through cold calling, networking, and lead generation strategies.
  • Negotiate freight rates and service agreements with customers to ensure profitability and service excellence.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through to account management and expansion.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure seamless execution of shipments and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of opportunities and provide regular sales forecasts to leadership.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales within a Transportation Brokerage company.
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets and KPIs.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Chicago and broader Illinois transportation market.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Existing portfolio of active shipping clients.
  • Experience with CRM software and transportation management systems (TMS).
  • Knowledge of multi-modal transportation (TL, LTL, Intermodal).
