• Job Description: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior BW/4HANA Data Engineer / Architect with 8+ years of experience for a fully remote role across Europe. This position is suited for a specialist with deep expertise in SAP BW/4HANA, SAP HANA data engineering and modelling, and LSA++ architecture, combined with fluent German and strong utilities or energy sector exposure. The successful candidate will lead architectural design, backend modelling, data integration, analytics enablement, security design, performance optimization, and technical governance.
• Responsibilities: ◦ Lead architectural design for SAP BW/4HANA solutions based on LSA++ principles. ◦ Create and optimize ADSOs, Composite Providers, Open ODS Views, and SAP HANA Calculation Views. ◦ Model complex business and regulatory scenarios, including market roles and balancing processes. ◦ Implement complex business logic using ABAP, including routines, BAdIs, and exits. ◦ Maximize system performance through SQLScript and AMDP using HANA data push-down techniques. ◦ Develop heterogeneous ETL pipelines integrating SAP S/4HANA through CDS Views and ODP, as well as non-SAP sources such as Azure and SQL Server through SDI and SDA. ◦ Support reporting and analytics development using BEx Query Designer, including variable exits and complex calculated and restricted key figures. ◦ Contribute to the technical setup and troubleshooting of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and Analysis for Office (AfO). ◦ Design and implement Analysis Authorizations and Analytic Privileges. ◦ Develop dynamic, attribute-based authorization controls through Customer Exits to support regulatory data segregation and unbundling compliance. ◦ Perform systematic bottleneck analysis using RSRT and HANA Plan Visualizer.
• Requirements: ◦ 8+ years of experience in SAP data engineering, SAP architecture, or related enterprise data roles. ◦ Strong expertise in SAP BW/4HANA. ◦ Strong experience in SAP HANA data engineering and modelling. ◦ Deep knowledge of LSA++ architecture. ◦ Fluent German language skills. ◦ Proven experience with ABAP, including routines, BAdIs, and exits. ◦ Strong hands-on experience with SQLScript and AMDP. ◦ Experience integrating SAP S/4HANA via CDS Views and ODP. ◦ Experience working with non-SAP source integrations such as Azure and SQL Server using SDI and SDA. ◦ Expertise in BEx Query Designer.
