Role Overview and Purpose
As the Account Director, you will act as a senior leader and strategic partner to our key clients. Your primary mission is to nurture, grow, and champion client relationships, ensuring that our creative outputs align perfectly with their brand objectives and business goals.
Navigating the fast-paced world of experiential events, large-scale exhibitions, and immersive brand activations, you will oversee projects from initial creative brief through to final on-site delivery. You will lead cross-functional teams of designers, production managers, and digital specialists to deliver flawless, memorable campaigns on time and within budget, whilst proactively identifying new growth opportunities within your accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship & Strategic Leadership
- Trusted Advisor: Act as the primary senior contact for key clients, building deep, long-term relationships based on trust, industry expertise, and exceptional delivery.
- Strategic Development: Deeply understand your clients' business landscapes, target audiences, and brand objectives to advise on strategic experiential campaigns.
- Account Growth: Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities within existing client accounts to drive organic revenue growth.
Campaign & Project Oversight
- End-to-End Delivery: Oversee the delivery of complex live events, exhibitions, pop-ups, and immersive installations from concept initiation to post-event debrief and analysis.
- Creative & Production Alignment: Partner closely with creative, digital, and technical production teams to ensure brilliant creative concepts are translated into feasible, outstanding physical experiences.
- Quality Control: Maintain an uncompromising eye for detail, ensuring all deliverables meet the agency's high standards of quality, safety, and brand alignment.
Financial & Operational Management
- Commercial Management: Take full ownership of account profitability, including budgeting, forecasting, fee negotiation, and cost control.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and develop junior account management team members (Account Managers and Account Executives), fostering a high-performance, supportive culture.
- Resource Allocation: Collaborate with internal resource planning teams to ensure projects are staffed efficiently and deadlines are met.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Industry Experience: A proven track record as an Account Director or Senior Account Manager within an agency environment, specialising in live events, exhibitions, experiential marketing, brand activations, or immersive installations.
- Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale budgets (£500k+ portfolio), with a solid understanding of agency commercial models and procurement processes.
- Strategic Thinker: Excellent ability to interpret complex client briefs and contribute to the strategic and creative pitch process.
- Relationship Builder: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a natural ability to influence, persuade, and manage diverse client stakeholders.
- Problem Solver: Highly organised with a calm, methodical approach to problem-solving under pressure in live event environments.
- Passion for Innovation: A genuine passion for live experiences, spatial design, and emerging immersive technologies (AR/VR, interactive installations).
