About Rose BioSolutions
At Rose BioSolutions, our capabilities span foundational research with human immune cells and stem cells to the complete advanced therapy manufacturing continuum. We are an established operation with a world-class team of experts, and we apply our R.O.S.E standard to every program and relationship: Reliable, Outcome driven, Scalable, and Excellent.
About the role
As a newly independent company standing up its own IT function after a carve-out, we need a hands-on Director of Infrastructure. You will directly own cybersecurity for the infrastructure organization, alongside core infrastructure architecture and operations. This is a fully remote role in the United States, reporting to the CIO, with 2 to 5 direct reports including on-site support resources across our four locations (Rockville, MD; Memphis, TN; Northridge, CA; Keele, UK).
We do not yet have a managed service provider in place. You will lead the evaluation, selection and onboarding of our managed services partner(s), which may be a combined MSP/MSSP model or separate providers, then own ongoing SLA management and performance oversight. We are looking for someone who has designed and built a future-state IT environment from a legacy or transitional foundation, not just operated an established one.
What you will do
- Lead the RFP, evaluation and selection of our first MSP and MSSP partner(s), defining scope, SLAs and success metrics from the ground up, then own the relationships through onboarding, escalations, quarterly business reviews and KPI management.
- Own cybersecurity strategy, policy, standards and risk posture, deciding what runs in-house and what an MSSP executes, including incident response decisions, SIEM and alerting oversight, perimeter and firewall architecture, identity and access governance, and data privacy across US and UK (GDPR) requirements.
- Own infrastructure architecture strategy across network, server, storage, virtualization and cloud (Azure and/or AWS), including build vs. buy and on-prem vs. cloud decisions, standards and roadmap.
- Manage Office 365, Active Directory/Entra ID and the wider SaaS portfolio, plus end user computing and help desk performance delivered through the MSP.
- Own disaster recovery, backup and business continuity with defined and tested RTO/RPO targets, plus monitoring, documentation and runbooks for audit readiness.
- Own IT service management: change control, ticketing and CMDB.
- Support the intersection of IT and OT in a CDMO setting, including segmentation and monitoring with OT partners, CSV and 21 CFR Part 11 considerations, and SOC 2 or similar compliance work.
- Manage infrastructure and vendor budgets, and evaluate AI tools that improve operations, monitoring and help desk efficiency.
- Report infrastructure and security posture clearly to the CIO and executive leadership in a private equity-backed, board-visible environment.
What you will bring
- 10+ years of progressive infrastructure leadership, including selecting and managing MSPs, not just inheriting a relationship.
- Required: concrete, verifiable carve-out or divestiture experience, with a track record of designing and building future-state infrastructure.
- Required: direct, hands-on infrastructure experience in a CDMO, pharmaceutical or highly regulated manufacturing environment with validated infrastructure.
- Direct ownership of a cybersecurity program, including endpoint, identity and vulnerability management.
- Hands-on incident management and SIEM experience, and strong knowledge of perimeter security and firewall architecture.
- Deep architecture expertise across network, server, storage, virtualization and cloud.
- Experience with disaster recovery planning, ITSM process ownership and infrastructure budgets.
- Strong written and verbal communication for executive-level reporting.
- A bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
A plus
- Exposure to OT environments and IT/OT convergence in a manufacturing or lab setting.
- Familiarity with GxP, computer system validation or 21 CFR Part 11.
- Familiarity with SOC 2 or similar frameworks, and multi-jurisdiction data privacy such as GDPR.
- Relevant certifications (Azure/AWS, security).
What success looks like
- MSP/MSSP performance meets or exceeds SLA targets, with proactive escalation management.
- Infrastructure supports growth and audit readiness without unplanned downtime.
- Cybersecurity posture across IT and OT is continuously improving and measurable.
- DR and backup objectives are defined, tested and met.
- End users and site operations have reliable, well supported technology.
- The CIO and executive team have clear, timely visibility into infrastructure and security posture.

Regular travel is expected across our four sites in the US and UK, with frequency defined by carve-out and MSP/MSSP transition milestones.
